Rainfall Fluctuations and Poverty in Sahelian Economies: Evidence from Senegal

In this paper, we use a computable dynamic general equilibrium model to study the impact of rainfall shocks on poverty in Senegal. Results indicate that less rainy periods correspond to phases of increasing poverty for all groups of households. However, during periods of good rainfall, urban households are those who mainly gain.
