Fairtrade Labels: Between Delegation and Consumer Resignation

Fairtrade is based on the idea that the consumer wants to be fair. The consumer must therefore identify products whose price is fair. For this purpose, labels are relied on which are theoretically in the service of justice. Yet, Fairtrade labels are seen more as a guarantee of quality. Moreover, relying on labels allows the consumer to avoid questioning their sense of justice. In this way, labels are not vectors of justice, but instead become obstacles to its implementation.
