This article aims to discuss the political cohesion of BRICS countries, and their way forward as a group, based on their engagement with African countries and recent developments in the creation of an operational platform for collaboration. It shows that the group is still uneven and competitive in spite of economic similarities. However, increasing initiatives, combined with economic cooperation and common political aims, lay a solid foundation for a more functional and integrated community.
