It’s the early 2020s, and somewhere in Europe, a fleet of delivery drivers is roaming the streets, or waiting curbside for their phone to ring. All of them are “uberized” workers, putting pedal to the metal for the biggest delivery giants… Or are they? No! A handful of riders are still holding out against platform capitalism, organizing “disconnection strikes,” public demonstrations, and legal disputes. Faced with the behemoths of the gig economy, a fraction of these “new proletarians” have even embarked on the rocky path toward self-management.
