Can the interruption of capital become a site of reproduction and such that our responses to capitalist destruction are become practices of caretaking? What tactics and spaces, social and ecological relations must both be redeemed from the past and recognized in the present, in order to attend to the double bind of reproduction under capitalism? If nostalgia tends to characterize the dialectic between production and party, hegemony and the state, then, what empathies, mournings, and rages are to be found on the terrain of direct violence and expropriation that defines the present? Addressing these questions, this article gestures towards an intemperate communism commensurate to the hellish reproduction of capitalist social-ecological disasters.
