In this paper, the author describes the political ans symbolic context that shaped his early representations of the Lebanese society and saw the birth of his taste for Mathematics. He traces how these representations were radically modified as a result of the outbreak of the Lebanese civil war and how this transformation was nourished by the new intellectual and political environment encountered during his studies in France. These events oriented his speculations towards the field of Game Theory, the Mathematics concerned with strategy and conflict. He argues briefly that the classical theory has to be extended in order to include the analysis of unstable configurations. Finally, he provides guidelines for a model applicable to the particular case of the structural Lebanese crisis.
