The institutional injunctions of open science tend to reinforce the processes of enclosure, capture and accumulation of value as well as deadly uses by knowledge corporations. In response to the effects of open science, researchers have proposed the development of a user license, called UsageRight, which would serve as a “semi-permeable membrane” for a virtuous community of use of scientific works. This proposal is considered here from the perspective of a study situation in the “human sciences”, linked to a case of disresponsibility and academic extractivism.
