The translation of proverbs usually presents various options. On the one hand, the translator can decide to make a literal translation even if this disturbs the stylistic aspect of the proverb. On the other hand, he/she can try to find the preexisting equivalent or he/she can make an interpretative translation by deleting cultural images (words) of the original; this focuses only on the target language. Here we propose an inclusive method based on what we name the conciliatory approach in proverb translation. This method contains three basic processes, which are a literal translation, the search for preexisting shapes in the source language, and a saturation (filing) of identified shapes by the literal translation, leading to a semantic compromise.
