Resistance That Ignores Itself

The human being is in a continual relation with the other. It has to resist the desire to search for protection against the other and the desire to keep others at a distance. Language takes us into this in-between. Since we know little about language and its relations to thinking, we underestimate what we are not able to see. Without constitutive resistance, we are not able to know how to separate ourselves from the mother, and we do not know how to construct our autonomy in relation to the others. The state of ignorance due to language is violent and this has implications in the workplace as well. However, the ignorance is in a stronger collision there, because language in the workplace cannot be mere discourse. At work, people seek results and material and intellectual transformations. In this setting, we find a resistance that ignores itself through a certain way of refusing to repress language.
