Dealing with Diversity and Social Injustice at School

The idea presented in this article is that the very term of heterogeneity and the way it is used in the field of education, in particular its multiplication, may contribute to dissimulate differences. The hypothesis developed is that the repeated appeal to the notion of « difference » constitutes a new modality of the neutralisation of diversity. Thus, it hinders the possibility of conceiving how social injustices are imbricated with cultural disqualification, and supports the belief that violence is linked to ethnic membership.
