Daily Life in a Nursery: On the Subject of Invisible Work
Type de matériel :
71
This paper presents the work of early childhood professionals in two nurseries. Using an ethnographic approach and participant observation, it describes the tensions silently experienced by these workers, most of whom are women. It also analyzes how these tensions affect their health and their relationships with the children in their care. An engaged observer and discussion partner, the author’s subjective perceptions and observations become a source for group discussion about how ethical issues affect apparently ordinary situations.
