At the beginning of 2011, a strange story broke in the media. It claimed that Renault, the car maker, dismissed three managers in secret. These managers were claimed to have given information about Renault’s electric vehicles to Chinese companies. However, the investigation soon discovered that the issue was one of fraud instead of spying.
