As a virtuality, a project needs a form of credit to be carried out. It is not a question of cultivating an illusion or a “self-belief,” but rather to be persuaded that it is worth the effort, that it is worth continuing and not postponing or stopping. What this paper calls “heuristics belief” is a way to put the project to the test. We think the project support relationship is based on a “reciprocity of belief” and a “circulation of persuasion,” between the person behind the project and the counselor, which helps to go as far as necessary during the implementation of the project to verify its relevance.
