To think the notion of event, the author addresses the question of the formation of meaning. This is done in examining the constitution of a small group and its plan to emerge from a catastrophic vision of the future. He sheds light on the forms of subjective and social investment of this team, with a view to identifying what makes an event in the dynamics of creation of meaning and in the story of the group. The analysis of this situation has been chosen to open reflection on the notion of event as a repeated process of advent of meaning. The event is analyzed as a renewed process of arising, characterized by the nonprobable and the unpredictability of its inscription in a continuity, and as taking form, each time, of an inference that initiates an invisible construction. It is a question of following the avatars of this potentiality at work in the formation of a shared world, of a collective imaginary that allows itself to be grasped only in the layouts of meaning it supports, the reality it shapes, and the effects it entails.
