The Anti-Jewish Temptations of Christian Thought (II). Institutional Exclusivism
Type de matériel :

The bull Cantate Domino (1442) of the Council of Florence testifies to a specifically Catholic anti-Judaism that takes the form of institutional exclusivism. In fact, it condemns all Judaizing practice and at the same time affirms that the divine grace is effective for salvation only within the visible limits of the sacrosancta Romana ecclesia. Taking into account the historical context and the Augustinian and Thomistic direction of the text, the work of interpretation carried out by J. Ratzinger and B. Sesboüé shed a critical light on this document.
