From operational to operative thinking: Issues related to erasing “conflictuality” in occupational health practices

The recommendations of “good practice” promoted by discourses and occupational health prevention approaches paradoxically tend to reintroduce some functional features of the organization of work that are involved in the onset of health disorders, rather than providing solutions to them.The phenomenon of erasing “conflictuality” studied here relates to a process involved in a desymbolization of professional practices. In this article, we attempt to capture the effects of “desubjectivation” that can result, particularly certain psychological consequences that can be described in terms of “operational thinking” and psychosomatic phenomena.
