Laïcité is enshrined in the French Constitution and it guides our public and social behaviors. This differs, however, for inner convictions that are tied up with the psychic dimension, especially in a society where reality shows are considered sacred. This psychic dimension may summon a sort of broad daylight spirituality. In showcasing the invisible, these new behaviors undermine rules, institutions, workers, systems, and professionals who serve the public, putting a peaceful coexistence at risk. Including religion in the clinical accompaniment related to occupational health in the civil service entails an examination of the collusion and antagonism involved and finally poses the question of which values matter the most, those that pertain to the civil service, job skills, or religion.
