The massive character of abuse in the Church revealed in the recent Sauvé Report contrains us to take a fresh look at the theology of salvation in which the ecclesial body lives according the sacramental mode. Could God have abandoned to death those who have sought his face in truth and trusted the Church ? We will therefore reflect on the theological status of vulnerability, on the radical nature of the evangelical counsels that allowed the abuses to take place, on the power in the Church that prevailed over authentic spiritual search, but we will also consider the Paschal mystery in this drama.
