In this Ignatian Jubilee Year, celebrated on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the conversion of St Ignatius of Loyola, this text by a monument of twentieth-century theology reminds us how the theology of the Exercises can lead a life to set out “on the open sea” in the inner experience of the Spirit.
