Based on a work psychodynamics survey conducted with administrative employees in the Engineers’, Technicians’, and Administrators’ categories of an engineering school’s industrial achievements department, this article considers the progressive transformation of cooperation through the team manager’s charismatic managerial approach. Our analysis shows that strong individual commitment to activities, particularly to care-related ones, over several years, helped to improve cooperation and results. A change in the affective and relational balance of the team, following the arrival of a new member, undermined the manager’s charismatic authority, leading to a reorganization of the employees’ cooperative relationships and defense strategies.
