In the context of formation for the priesthood (propaedeutic and seminary), how can the internal and external fora be articulated when the recent Ciase Report has de-absolutised secrecy in spiritual guidance in the name of protecting the victims of abuse in the Church? We will recall the fundamentals of the secrecy of “spiritual direction”, we will show the difficulties encountered by the Commission’s incitement, and we will suggest ways in which the government of seminaries can contribute to better security in the Church and society.
