Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2024. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : On September 23, 2021, a symposium entitled “Mining: challenge to the ecological transition?” organized by José Halloy and Florian Vidal was held at the University of Chicago Center in Paris. The purpose of this half-day discussion was to launch an initial interdisciplinary meeting on the issue of mining in the light of the ecological transition and of global changes. In this context, the debate around mining activities opens the question of resources and of the socio-technical model of our societies in the Anthropocene. Also, it affords time to reflect on the conditions of interdisciplinary research in France. In this report, we introduce the scientific background that prompted this symposium, the contribution of different interventions, and the perspectives and follow-up generated by these exchanges.
