Through the study of the psychic functioning of subjects afflicted with schizophrenia as seen with the Rorschach and the tat projective tests, the author is in search of a « melancholic process » which could be a possible model for the treatment of loss alongside that of mourning in these subjects. Using this operator, he demonstrates the possibilities or the imposibility of addressing the issues of loss according to the forms taken by the schizophrenic process, thus demonstrating the diversity of forms schizophrenia can assume.
