Philosophical rationality and religious thought: Levinas and the possibility of a Jewish philosophy
Type de matériel :
20
Through the distinction between the philosophical essays of Emmanuel Levinas and his Talmudic commentaries, this article aims to understand how, according to Levinas, philosophical rationality and references to Jewish sources are linked. It aims to highlight a double modality of connection, which maintains a firm distinction between the phenomenological and exegetical aspects of Levinas’ work; a work that also renews and enriches perspectives of interpretation of Talmudic sources and opens radically new philosophical paths.
