Thanks to an original fieldwork conducted at the end of the 2010’s, the article explores the permanencies and changes that have affected the EU Press Corps over the past 20 years. If that journalistic grouping presents some degree of stability due to the historically rooted working routines and the decades some EU correspondents have spent in Brussels, some transformations can also be clearly identified. Some of these are linked with the deep evolution of the media sector (economic model in crisis, growing precariousness of journalists, digitalization, etc.) and the rise of new actors on the Brussels media scene (Politico, Contexte). Others refer to the changing equilibrium of power within the European Union: European Parliament empowerment, rising visibility and centrality of the Presidency of the European Council and of European summits, political and communication cautiousness of the European Commission. The article examines both the permanencies and the transformations of the journalistic work in Brussels.
