“The King is dead, long live the King”: Meles Zenawi does not govern anymore but still reigns
Type de matériel :

The Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi died in August 2012 leaving the EPRDF, the dominant party controlling the state since 1991, without its historical leader. The nomination as Prime Minister of Hailemariam Dessalegn, Meles’s favorite, by EPRDF’s elites confirms Zenawi’s strong legacy. Nevertheless, this nomination hardly hides deep internal political tensions. The survival of the political elite running the country will be determined by their capacity to implement the program and the promises formulated by Meles Zenawi in the years preceding his death.
