The marginal productivity of harga. Reifying exile, subjectivation of the exiled
Type de matériel :
16
Irregular migration has been criminalized in Algeria since 2009. This case study focuses mainly on Sidi Salem in eastern Algeria and aims to demonstrate that marginality—social, economic, symbolic, political—is linked to the state and, more broadly, to different centers of power. As a place that is particularly associated with harga, Sidi Salem is historically, socially, and politically linked to the state. If exile is often reified, this process tends to produce a particular subjectivity.
