Political Irreverence or Symbolic Pillage of the Gabonese Head of State
Type de matériel :
99
This text deals with the political struggle in Gabon. It shows that the confiscation of power by the current head of state following the 2016 presidential election caused his opponents to form a “resistance” in order to delegitimize him. The latter then developed irreverence as a protest action against this regime. They charge it with the resentments accumulated since Ali Bongo came to power in 2009 in order to fuel symbolic attacks. The strategy consists, on the one hand, in diversifying the types of aggression and the angles of attack, and, on the other hand, in distributing the aggressions between different symbolic and physical spaces.
