In this interview, Mohamed Tozy reflects on his experience as a member of the Commission for a New Development Model. He describes how the ambiguous and ill-defined concept of economic sovereignty permeated the Commission’s work; the variety of positions taken on the subject depending not only on the topics and players involved, but also on the political configurations and the international context; and the games of influence and power it enabled. It is also an opportunity for him to reflect on the relationship between economic sovereignty on the one hand and monarchical, national, popular and territorial sovereignty on the other.
