Type de matériel :

The 1804 Civil Code - and the contemporary code - guarantees the rights of individuals, the marriage charter and the legal status of families. It has followed the evolution of society, and has been influenced by increasing gender equality, by the multiplication of the legal forms of couples, by the promotion of natural families and by the evolution of the rights and responsibilities of parents. But does it reflect social reality or is it, rather, the vision society has of what an ideal family should be?
