Imports and exports in the British Overseas Countries and Territories (OCT) from 1995 to 2018

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2022. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : Data from the Observatory of Economic Complexity (OEC) lists all imports and exports between 1995 and 2018. The data concerning the OCT were extracted for this study. This text analyzes the import and export flows before Brexit, and tries to understand the consequences. All the territories studied are islands. In fact, the trading partners associated with the flows have a propensity to change from one year to the next, which makes the analysis of partnerships between territories very complex, because the traditional tool of the “top 5” is insufficient due to its instability over time. This study attempts to remove this obstruction by using the statistical method of concordance of ranks at two territorial scales. Thanks to this tool, a more precise reading can be carried out using traditional indicators, which will allow a glimpse of the global impact of Brexit on the OCT.
