Focusing on three aspects of a body of work that is both deep and wide

Par : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2024. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : This paper spotlights three aspects of Jean-Louis Le Moigne’s work which have played a core role in my own research and continue to spread among various scientific communities. First, we focus on constructivism, because this epistemological foundation constitutes the base in which Jean-Louis Le Moigne’s entire work takes root. I concentrate on aspects that have influenced most my own conception of valuable knowledge. Then, we turn to systemic modeling, which is a conceptual tool that Jean-Louis Le Moigne developed for representing phenomena that are perceived to be complex. It is also a valuable tool to support the conception of artifacts intended to perform certain functions in contexts that are perceived to be complex and evolving. This presentation of systemic modeling leads us to think about the sciences of the artificial, an archetype of science different from that of the sciences of nature, and which constitutes another facet of science. Jean-Louis Le Moigne strove to make this archetype of science known in French scientific communities by translating the three successive editions of the book that presented it. Finally, we focus on a methodological strand: Jean-Louis Le Moigne’s endeavor to arouse collaborations between full-time researchers and practitioners from various fields. The aim of such collaborations is to co-develop knowledge that will be considered valid on epistemic, pragmatic, and ethical grounds. To conclude, we underscore that these three aspects of Jean-Louis Le Moigne’s work are mutually consistent.
