Considering the vulnerability of caregivers in an integrative ethics approach
Type de matériel :
TexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2024.
Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : This article examines, from the perspective of ethics (ethics of care, ethics of vulnerability) and philosophical reflection (philosophy of care, philosophy of the body), the vulnerability faced by caregivers, emphasizing the importance of considering, accepting, and mobilizing this vulnerability within a comprehensive approach to care that includes both caregivers and care recipients. We will look at the need to implement concrete measures that support health care personnel. To do this, we will discuss the emergence of the concept of vulnerability, its definition, and its attribution in the field of biomedical ethics. We will then discuss its attribution in a broader way by integrating the lived experiences of caregivers. Finally, we will suggest ways of understanding and integrating the vulnerability of caregivers into what might be considered an integrative ethics of shared vulnerability.
