French members of parliament have long been very involved in and identified with their electoral districts, with political parachuting being the exception. The 2017 LREM elected representatives continue this tradition: analysis of trajectories shows that the “civil society” they claim to embody is often very localized. This also applies to defectors from other political parties. In the field of selfpresentation (manifesto), the territory invoked is more generic than singular: it is more ground for effective territorial manager than singular place for native elected representatives.
