Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : This article presents the results of a study on the function of laughter and humor in adolescence. Projective data from five non-consultant adolescents, aged 13 to 18 years, were collected from the Rorschach and the TAT. The qualitative analysis of the data was carried out from the perspective of the Paris School, and humor and laughter, which we will call in this article “emotional emergences”, were treated as projective indicators, witnesses of what was played out during the test, in the encounter with the material and the clinician. The results allow us to highlight the intertwining of these emergences in the narcissistic and objectal axes, used during the delicate period of adolescence as defensive procedures and deployed in the relationship with others.
