In this article, the training in cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT) will be considered according to the significant development of this approach during the past 30 years. Main data published to date within this field indicate that the improvement of training programs in CBT requires: a clear definition of participant prerequisites, a close matching between the teaching content and latest developments and their evaluation. The current state in CBT training will then be discussed, in relation to education requirements in Europe, as well as in some training programs in Switzerland and throughout European countries.
