Linking alcoholism and femininity

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2020. Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : Past as well as contemporary studies have mainly investigated male alcoholism. In this article, we propose to link alcoholism with femininity. Although not specific to women, we consider the link between alcoholism and femininity based on the “bedside” follow-up of a patient hospitalized for withdrawal. Our hypothesis is that, paradoxically, drinking (the act) and alcohol (the object) are both an obstacle to and an attempt at psychologically integrating femininity.
