The impact of acute stress on response strategies in crisis situation: the case of the Rio-Paris crash

In critical situation, the acquired knowledge and skills from prior learning should enable individuals to identify and resolve anomalies. This study shows that logic described in the main theories of learning is not respected in case of acute stress. By studying the case of the Rio-Paris crash, we demonstrate that in a crisis situation, under acute stress, experts show a denial of the situation and are not able to expose and transfer their and highlight the stressors to be integrated into learning.
