The social regulation theory: a French-style stakeholder theory

Par : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2022. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : The purpose of this article is to show how the social regulation theory (SRT) may be considered as a French-style Stakeholder theory (ST). Based on the work of Jean-Daniel Reynaud and R. Edward Freeman, this conceptual study discusses two key concepts common to SRT and ST: the actor/stakeholder and legitimacy, which pave the way for a possible dialogue between these two theories.Once this conversation is engaged, the use of the concept of Stakeholder Management allows for a conceptual link between SRT and ST by linking it directly to Organizational Theory. Regulation thus becomes a particular form of management of organizational tensions and conflicts and allows cultural bridges between the notions of actor and stakeholder, interest or stake, negotiation and cooperation. We conclude this article with an original model that illustrates this connection between SRT and ST.
