China global television network Français, (digital) television as an instrument of China’s ‘political war’
Type de matériel :
81
Since the early 2000s, China has implemented a doctrine of ‘political warfare’ aimed at achieving global hegemony without using military force. This ‘political warfare’ is particularly evident in the Chinese Communist Party-run media, an analysis of which affords an understanding of the war’s boundaries and practical implementation. By using CGTN-Français as an instrument to disseminate Chinese diplomatic discourse, defend China’s image, reach audiences in French-speaking Africa, and denigrate Western countries, the Chinese Communist Party is demonstrating its intention to influence on a large scale. However, an analysis of its online broadcast shows the limits of this approach, highlighting the lack of results and the network’s inability to learn from its successes.
