The author presents and examines how the concepts of criticism and crisis are addressed by Francfurt scholars. He then relates them to the ideas of two theologians connected with the Frankfurt school, the protestant scholar Paul Tillich and his catholic counterpart Theodor Haecker. Finally, he questions the relevance of these categories today.
