This article examines the writing of paranoia in Rick Moody’s short story ‘The Omega Force’ and Don DeLillo’s novel Point Omega following Freud’s clinical analysis of the Schreber case and Lacan’s thesis. Grandiose delusions, split, end-of-world vision, persecutory doubles, projection and reversal are revisited to underline two contrastive understandings of fiction and the omega letter.
