The transformation of the associative sector: A metaphor-based approach

The aim of this paper is to understand the evolution of associations with a social purpose. This sector has undergone a profound transformation in the way associations are financed. Starting with Ricoeur’s metaphor theory, the research identifies the metaphors used by players when considering this transformation. Analysis of the interviews highlights living metaphors, dead metaphors, and semi-living metaphors that express the positioning of players with regard to the changes underway in the sector.
