What is Nature worth? A narrative literature review of valuations of Nature

How should we value Nature to better protect it? This article offers a narrative revue of valuations of Nature in management sciences. It explores the various perspectives of such valuations and clarifies their ontological presuppositions. The analysis reveals that management sciences are mainly focused on the production of financial value but that a minority of other approaches stimulate the consideration of other forms of value (e.g. emotional or spiritual). The implications in terms of decision-making are also discussed.
