The film The Spirit of Tattoo (Y. Takabayashi, 1982) proposes a unique theme for reflecting on tattoos, seen in this case as a triple experience. Firstly, the aesthetic experience focuses on the question of compilation, or of a figurative amalgam. Next, there is the anthropological experience once tattooing is systematically associated with the sexual act - an erotic amalgam. Finally, there is the biological experience, since reproducing the pattern creates a relationship between organic and non-organic substances. Examining this series of experiences brings us to the proposition that tattooing is fundamentally related to filiation.
