The Archaic Fraternal Complex
Type de matériel :
88
The fraternal complex has specific structure, dynamics, and economy. It is not first and only a displacement or avoidance of the Oedipus Complex, but comes in two forms: in the archaic form, the brother or sister is a partial object, an appendix or the maternal body or of one’s own imaginary body. The figures of the double, of narcissistic homosexuality, and of psychic bisexuality are sketched out. In the pre-Oedipal stage, the brother or sister is placed into a triangular rivalry. The Oedipus Complex transforms the archaic fraternal complex.
