This work, devoted to the theorization of the psychoanalytic psychosomatic approach to the adolescent and his body, is based on the notion of dementalization and its corollary seen in the collapse of psychical defenses, the immaturity of the ego, or the deficit in narcissistic bases. In this approach, pubertal development is seen as a traumatic state necessitating work on the limits of the ego. The new problematic provokes excessive excitations which find a possible solution in the somatizing path. The author proposes rich clinical studies of several somatizing modes during adolescence.
