Sublimation of Life, Sublimation of Death

"There exist two types of sublimation : one is the sublimation of life, heir to the object and the transitional area, as well as to the integrated parental couple as an oedipal ideal superego ; the other is the sublimation of death which associates splitting, deobjectalization, immaturity of the ego, and psychical and physcial hyperactivity which are dissociated from the body and the affects. A clinical example enables the author to show the possible somatic risks involved : primary anorexia (a psychosomatic line according to Michel Fain), as well as some abortions and vascular accidents."
