This discussion of F. Coblence's paper considers the following questions: the characteristics of the life of the soul, mainly with reference to the processual and to psychic movements; the psyche-soma relations in terms of flux and reflux of cathexis or the deployment of a dequalified energy; the problematic of extendedness and psychic space; the object's role in relation to the infant's potential for managing it.
