Through some considerations on the transference and its management, the author addresses the complex relationship between the transference and subjective appropriation. Although the subjectivation process is one of the treatment goals, the experience of the transference can actually put it under strain, even into crisis. The author's exposition is underpinned by the hypothesis that the transitionalisation of the transference increases the depth of experience that it brings out and supports its transformation into an original form and, accordingly, the process of subjective appropriation.
